World Cup, Archive, and Comedy channels debut on Apple TV, Android TV, and Smart TV, with content workflows powered by MediaTool.

Redge Technologies, a global provider of end-to-end video and OTT solutions, announced the launch of three FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) channels for KAN, Israel’s public broadcaster.

Launched under KAN BOX, the initiative extends the long-standing technology partnership between the two companies, building on the digital service platform Redge previously delivered for KAN’s flagship applications.

The three channels will run for an initial period of one year and will be distributed exclusively across connected TV platforms – Apple TV, Android TV, and Smart TV – reflecting how KAN’s audiences increasingly consume long-form and live content on the biggest screen in the home.

The three channels

World Cup: a dedicated channel combining live World Cup match broadcasts with on-demand content built around the tournament, giving fans a single destination for both live and catch-up viewing. The World Cup channel is scheduled to run for one month before coming off air, at which point it will be replaced within KAN BOX by a new Music channel featuring back-to-back songs and live performances.

Archive: a linear, always-on channel that will program KAN’s existing VOD library into a scheduled viewing experience, giving older and catalogue content a new lease of life. Archive is set to go live within KAN BOX in the coming weeks.

Comedy: a themed channel built around the series Kupa Rashit, offering fans a continuous, linear way to enjoy the show alongside related content.

All three channels are orchestrated through MediaTool, which sits at the center of the content supply chain for the launch. Metadata is sourced directly from KAN’s BackOffice system, while source video files are pulled from the Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform. KAN’s content operators control what goes to air simply by flagging series or individual VOD titles for delivery to MediaTool, streamlining the path from library asset to live FAST channel without manual rebuilding of playlists or metadata.

This workflow allows KAN to stand up and manage thematic, always-on channels quickly, reusing existing content and metadata investments rather than treating each FAST channel as a bespoke production.
