Over a year ago, Kanal D and Atresmedia revealed the Spanish company was adapting Turkish drama Fatmagul in Spain.

Since then, not much was known about the project.

But this week, Spanish media platform El Confidencial Digital revealed new details about the upcoming series, which according to the report will be titled Alba and begin filming in April.

The platform added that production for the new series will be managed by Boomerang TV and that it will be set in the coastal town of Villajoyosa (Alicante).

In addition, the adaptation will be developed in a premium series format to air weekly on Antena 3’s prime time.

Produced in 2010 by Ay Yapim for Kanal D and starring Beren Saat and Engin Akyürek, Fatmagül is one of the most successful Turkish series of all time.

In addition to being a success in Turkey, the series has been sold in more than 50 countries around the world.

It was acquired in Spain by Atresmedia in 2018, where it premiered on Nova as the first Turkish series to air in the country.
