Global Agency has announced that TVE has renewed the hit quiz format Joker for a 3rd season of 110 episodes.
Spanish production company Lavinia Audiovisual will produce the primetime show, underlining the growing success of the compelling quiz in which contestants aim to ascend the money tree, using their store of jokers to cancel out their wrong answers and win a big cash prize.
The first two seasons of Joker achieved great success under the local name El Comodin. First season had 55 episodes and the second season had 73 episodes. The show will be broadcast on TVE from Monday to Friday at 6:25 p.m and will be presented by Aitor Albizua and Esti Gabilondo.
Joker was developed by the creator of several Global Agency hit formats including Blind Taste and Shopping Monsters.
The show achieved great success in Portugal with more than 700 episodes on RTP; and France with more than 400 daily episodes on France 2. The format was initially broadcast on the Turkish public broadcaster TRT for over 100 episodes.
International sales with licenses and options include Slovenia, Poland, Greece, USA, Middle East, Ireland, Australia and Italy.
