TTV+ Buyers: What Are They Looking For?

John Baghdassarian, VP, Content Acquisitions and Strategy, Olympusat, spoke to TTV+ about the content he’s looking for in the international market.

TTVMedia, through its TTV+ platform and backed by Eccho Rights, launched the initiative Buyers: What Are They Looking For? during Miptv, to find out more about international buyers’ programming needs.

The interviews were conducted through the base of over 5,000 buyers registered on TTV+, a 24/7 online marketplace where buyers can look through catalogs from thousands of companies, and in which distributors can contact them to close businesses.

This time, we present John Baghdassarian, VP, Content Acquisitions and Strategy, Olympusat.

What type of content are you looking for?

We’re just looking for great series that really that are compelling stories, that people want to watch and binge, or anything else that they want to do.

So that’s our main focus, series. And of course, we also buy a lot of movies.

What does content need to have to catch your attention?

We really look for things that are going to capture our audience, whether it’s crime, investigation, Narco-related, great love stories.

All those things, we look for those because it doesn’t matter which language they are in, ultimately they capture our audiences’ imagination and that’s what we look for.

Any specific contents that have been working well on your screen?

The amazing thing is that our audiences throughout the Americas have really loved seeing dramas from the East.

We have some great dramas from China, historical dramas and people love them. I think we are going to see more and more dramas that are coming from China and that region.
