Karina Medina, Programming Manager at Ecuavisa, spoke to TTV+ about the content she’s looking for in the international market.
TTVMedia, through its TTV+ platform and backed by Eccho Rights, launched the initiative Buyers: What Are They Looking For? during Miptv, to find out more about international buyers’ programming needs.
The interviews were conducted through the base of over 5,000 buyers registered on TTV+, a 24/7 online marketplace where buyers can look through catalogs from thousands of companies, and in which distributors can contact them to close businesses.
This time, we present Karina Medina, Programming Manager at Ecuavisa.
What type of content are you looking for?
At this moment we’re mainly gearing towards dramas, those telenovelas that have a story that can touch audiences’ hearts; telenovelas that have a message to leave behind.
What does content need to have to catch your attention?
What they should have is a deep drama, an intense drama, which keeps you glued to the screen every day, thinking you can’t miss a single episode. Where the leading couple shares a great love story.
Any specific contents that have been working well on your screen?
I could highlight the performance of Turkish and Philippine telenovelas. They’re fantastic products that have these elements I mentioned before. They’re full of values, which I think is something people have really appreciated and that I as Programming manager also appreciate. It follows the same line as what Ecuavisa stands for.
