TTV+ Buyers: What Are They Looking For?

Alex Adamo, Senior Developer & Format Manager at TV4 in Sweden, spoke to TTV+ about the content he’s looking for in the international market.

TTVMedia, through its TTV+ platform and backed by Eccho Rights, launched the initiative Buyers: What Are Buyers Looking For? during Miptv, to find out more about international buyers’ programming needs.

The interviews were conducted through the base of over 5,000 buyers registered on TTV+, a 24/7 online marketplace where buyers can look through catalogs from thousands of companies, and in which distributors can contact them to close businesses.

This time, we present Alex Adamo, Senior Developer & Format Manager at TV4 in Sweden.

What type of content are you looking for?

I’m looking for formats in the unscripted space. Being the biggest commercial broadcaster in our territory, we’re looking for broad ideas, formats, that could be studio entertainment, game shows, factual entertainment.

What elements does a show have to have in order to catch your eye?

We’re looking for ideas and stories that have a wide appeal. Something that is important to the Swedish population in some sense. It could be cooking or love or housing. I think the stories need to be somewhat organic and not overly constructed.

Are there any specific titles that caught your attention this past year?

Quiz formats. That’s something that has caught our eye this past year. We can see that it’s doing really well internationally.

Which genres have worked best in recent times?

Entertainment titles have done even better. But also a clear upswing for formats that contain a dose of escapism.
