The second week of the TTV+Live: The Future of TV Content, the digital event organized by TTV Media Group, as part of the launch of its new B2B: TTV+ platform, featured top executives from the international industry and panels on the main productions and trends of the past year.

TTV+Live: The Future of TV Content, the new digital event organized by TTV Media Group as part of the launch of the new B2B: TTV+ platform, continued this week with more outstanding panels and debates.

It has featured more than 20 panels, keynotes and conferences by more than 40 renowned speakers from the TV industry, which will be available on demand after the event ends on December 18.

The list includes top personalities such as Kate del Castillo, Juan José Campanella, Natalia Scalia, Fernando Barbosa, Sonia Martínez, Maarten Meijs, Javier Pons, Carlos Bardasano, Fidela Navarro, Fredrik af Malmborg, Jimmy Arteaga and Ates Ince, among others.

Day 4

The event’s fourth day featured two panels focused on the future of content and consumer habits in Latin America from two different perspectives: the launch of Disney+ in the region and the evolution of the Turkish phenomenon in LatAm.

From the Disney+ side, the protagonists were Natalia Scalia, Head of Direct-to-Consumer, The Walt Disney Company Latam; and Fernando Barbosa, General Manager Media Networks, The Walt Disney Company Latam (US), who spoke about the platform’s arrival in Latin America and the company’s strategy regarding original production.

On the Turkish side, the panel included Beatriz Cea Okan, VP and Head of Sales and Acquisitions, Inter Medya; Mikaela Perez, Sales Manager, Kanal D; and Iván Sánchez, Sales Director Latam, Global Agency, who reviewed the changes that Turkish content has undergone since its arrival in Latin America and anticipated how they believe the phenomenon will evolve in the coming years.

Day 5

The event’s fifth day featured another two standout panels: one that looked ahead to anticipate Turkey’s next big hit. and another who looked back on what 2020 left behind.

Titled Turkish new Generation, What Now?, the panel featured Fredrik af Malmborg, Managing Director of Eccho Rights; Muge Akar, Content Sales Deputy Manager at ATV; Ates Ince, Managing Director of MADD; and José Luis Gascue, EVP & Head Worldwide Sales at Calinos Entertainment.

The executives spoke about the main trends in Turkish content in 2020, how the pandemic affected their business and production plans, and debated about what the next big genre in Turkish production will be.

Later in the day Ruth Calvo, Director of International Development at Teleformat, analyzed the main television trends in fiction and entertainment, with a selection of the fictions and formats that marked the year that is ending.

Day 6

The sixth day offered two interesting panels focused on entertainment and fiction.

First, The New Age of Unscripted Formats brought together three top producers and executives from leading development companies: Coty Cagliolo, Director of Latin America Production at Fremantle; Sebastián Moguilevsky, CEO of Warner Bros. ITVP Spain and Portugal; and Marie Leguizamo, executive producer at Endemol Shine Boomdog.

This was followed by the panel The Roads of Co-Production Between Latin America and Spain, in alliance with Conecta Fiction. Agustín Sacanell, co-founder and creative director of Kapow from Argentina, and Emilio Amaré, partner and general director of Plano a Plano in Spain, shared their experiences and discussed the partnership opportunities for the future.

Day 7

The second to last day of the event was a day devoted to ViacomCBS and premium production in Mexico.

Early in the morning there was a panel on ViacomCBS, which discussed the present of Pluto TV and the plans for Paramount+, a new giant that lands in the region. It featured Federico Cuervo and Eduardo Lebrija, moderated by non other than Argentine actor Michel Brown.
