Virtual LA Screenings: News and Announcements from Day 4

Up next, a summary of the main announcements and deals from the fourth day of the digital event.

This Friday came to an end the first week of the Virtual LA Screenings, that will carry on all along the weekend and until next Wednesday 19th of may.

The main stories:

Parrot Analitycs and the search of new revenue streams

The day had two featured conferences. First, it was the the turn of Parrot Analitycs who along with Alex Nempeque from WarnerMedia addressed how to expand revenue streams for content assets.

Focus on APAC region

Later it was the turn of a panel centered on APAC Region. It featured executives from Japan (TBS), Phillipines (ABS-CBN) and South Korea (Something Special).

More than 900 buyers

According to the organizers, more than 900 buyers have already participated from the event. And more than 2000 screenings were already made.

More conferences during the weekend

During the weekend the event has more activities planned. Like four conferences around topics such as OTT, production, trends and MENA region.

Star+ was the highlight of the day

Regarding news, the day was impacted by two announces related to Disney. First, that the OTT platform Star+ will be launched in Latin America on the 31th of August.

And also that Filmax will produce a new original for Star: El grito de las mariposas. It centers around the real story of two women who suffered the tyranny of Dominican dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo.

It’s a co production between Tandem Films, Gloriamundi Producciones and Mediabyte.
