VIS, The Mediapro Studio Reveal Trailer for Los internacionales

The thriller, a coproduction between The Mediapro Studio, Viacom International Studios, Telecom and Olympusat, will premiere on May 20.

The Mediapro Studio, Viacom International Studios (VIS), Telecom and Olympusat presented the first look at Los internacionales, the thriller starring Cecilia Roth and Juan Pablo Shuk, the first fiction crime series set in the 2001 political and economic crisis in Argentina.

In addition, they have announced its release date in Argentina for May 20 on Telefe and the video-on-demand service Flow.

Based on the Nahuel Gallota novel The Bogota Connection, Los internacionales tells the story of this gang of Colombian thieves who arrived in Argentina at the height of the crisis to carry out robberies and dismantle the assets of a burning society.

In 2001, many Argentines were forced to withdraw their savings from banks in the face of the deep political and economic crisis. Los internacionales took advantage of this chaos to commit robberies in flats and houses, acquiring a significant loot in money and jewelry, which contributed to making them a legend.

Cecilia Roth leads the cast of the series as prosecutor Marta Costas. She’s joined by Juan Pablo Shuk, as Fausto, the leader of the band, and the actors Rafael Ferro, Boy Olmi, Carlos Santamaría, Gustavo Garzón Rami Herrera, Sebastián Osorio, Camilo Amores, Christian Vega, Laura Perico and Susana Varela.

The series was filmed last year in Bogotá and Buenos Aires. A team of more than 200 professionals were involved in the production during 65 days, with more than 300 scenes filmed in more than 40 different outdoor locations.

The series’ ten episodes are directed by three renowned directors Martin Hodara (episodes 1 and 2), Pablo Vázquez (episodes 3, 4 and 5) and Pablo Ambrosini (episodes 6, 7 and 8).

Written by Martín Méndez, Bruno Luciani and Luciana Porchietto, Los internacionales has had the support of INCAA (National Institute of Audiovisual Arts).
