The bioseries of the Mexican icon premieres December 1.

ViX unveiled today the trailer and official key art for Se llamaba Pedro Infante, the bioseries of the Mexican idol, premiering on December 1. The eight episodes will be available exclusively on premiere day on the service’s premium plan. In addition, the first episode will be available on ViX’s free plan. Se llamaba Pedro Infante stars Ana Claudia Talancón (El refugio, Perfectos desconocidos) as María Luisa León and Mario Morán (No manches Frida, Pasión y poder) as Pedro Infante.

With locations in San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, and Mexico City, the drama also features Vico Escorcia (Los crímenes de Mar del Norte, Milagros de Navidad) as Lupita Torrentera, Julio Bracho (Cantinflas, El César) as Matouk, Daniela Álvarez (La mexicana y el güero, Por amar sin ley) as Irma Dorantes, and Leticia Huijara (Sense8, Jugar con fuego) as Doña Cuca.

Se llamaba Pedro Infante begins in 1917, in a distant town in Sinaloa where a poor and hopeless child is born. Pedro Infante, a dreamer, in love, and always with a broken heart, never gave up on being someone exceptional. The promise he made to his mother led him to become the ultimate star of the music and silver screen of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema; his songs and characters went around the world, and when he seemingly had it all, he found a tragic death. The series will be an opportunity to discover the true story of Pedro Infante, the Mexican idol no one has seen before.

Additionally, the production features Norma Angélica (La Casa de las Flores, Club de Cuervos), Juan Carlos Remolina (Quién mató a Sara, Los minutos negros), Nacho Tahhan (Mujer de nadie, Selena), Raúl Sandoval(Vicente Fernández, Jenny Rivera y Bronco), Carlos Gatica (Desenfrenadas, Los ricos también lloran), Mariana Lodoza (Érase una vez, La Rosa de Guadalupe), Julieta Egurrola (Efectos secundarios, Crónica de un desayuno), Manuel Balbi (Genesis, Casi treinta), Juan Carlos Barreto (Redemption of a broken mind, Para volver a amar), Daniel Martínez (Sr. Ávila, El Señor de los Cielos), Julio Casado (El Señor de los Cielos, Camelia la Texana), and María del Carmen Felix (Enemigo Íntimo, La Doña).

The ViX Original bioseries shows the intimacy of Mexico’s greatest idol and is produced by Rubén Galindo (Hoy voy a cambiar, El retador, Sin miedo a la verdad) as executive producer and showrunner. Alejandro Bazzano(Travesuras de la niña mala, La casa de papel) and Sergio Siruela (Herederos por accidente, Promesas de Campaña) join as directors, and Guillermo Ríos and María José Mochales are the series’ scriptwriters.
