Alex de la Iglesia’s series is one of the two HBO Europe productions chosen by HBO Max to premiere in the US.

WarnerMedia revealed this Friday that two HBO Europe productions will arrive in the US through HBO Max: Beartown and 30 monedas.

The first is a Swedish series that HBO Europe premieres simultaneously this Sunday in all its territories. It is based on the hit novel by Fredrik Backman and is directed by Peter Grönlund.

Ulf Stenberg, Aliette Opheim, Tobias Zilliacus, Miriam Ingrid and Oliver Dufaker are its protagonists.

And the second is nothing more and nothing less than the Spanish series that Alex de la Iglesia is preparing for HBO Spain.

It is a story of horror, paranormal phenomena and conspiracy in rural Spain and is a Pokeepsie Films production for HBO Europe, with the participation of HBO Latin America.

It is co-written by Álex de la Iglesia and Jorge Guerricaechevarría, and includes a high-level cast, made up of Eduard Fernández, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Megan Montaner, Macarena Gómez, Pepón Nieto, Manolo Solo or Carmen Machi.

While it will premiere on HBO Europe on November 29, it will arrive in the US in 2021 on HBO Max.

30 monedas joins Veneno, a Spanish series that was also acquired by HBO Max.

In Latin America, meanwhile, HBO Latin America announced this Friday that it will also premiere 30 monedas in 2021.
