The general director of the production company spoke with ttvnews at Mipcom about the production of the new series, which was announced during the event and will be made together with Dopamine.

This Tuesday, during the second day of Mipcom in Cannes, RTVE, Prime Video and Telekom Srbija announced the new series, Cicatriz.

Produced by Plano a Plano and Dopamine, in collaboration with Asacha Media Group, the series is the television adaptation of the best seller by Juan Gómez-Jurado, with scripts by Pablo Roa and Fernando Sancristóbal.

“Filming begins in November, in about five weeks,” Emilio Amaré, general director of Plano a Plano, told ttvnews. “We started in Bilbao, we will shoot for 16 weeks there, ending at the beginning of March 2024. And then we shoot in parallel with Serbia. In Serbia we have another team that we moved there, together with a local production company called Adrenaline to complete the filming.”

How did Plano a Plano become part of this project? “Dopamine had the rights to the novel. They quickly contacted us to see if we wanted to co-develop the first scripts and the bible together. And we said yes, because it is a story that we loved,” the executive revealed.

“The first partnership was with Dopamine. We started to develop the content and once we had it developed, we went to the market. We made the link with Telekom Srbija, who began to pre-sell it in the Adriatic territories. And then Amazon Prime Video and RTVE joined “he added.

Distribution, the director explained, is handled by RTVE’s International Sales department.

In addition to Cicatriz, Amaré revealed the next projects that Plano a Plano has in the pipeline, including several series and a movie.

“We just finished filming a series for Antena 3 called One Life Less in the Canary Islands,” he said. “We will start filming Cicatriz in four weeks. And then we have a film project for next year, and two more series projects that I still can’t talk about for next year as well,” he concluded.
