Sony Pictures Television (SPT) today announced that Jaqueline “Jacky” Castro has been named Executive Director of Unscripted Content for International Production in Latin America.

Based in Mexico City, she reports to Ana Bond, SVP and Managing Director, International Production, Latin America and US Hispanic. Effective immediately, Castro will work closely with the senior management team to lead the company’s unscripted development efforts in the region.

“We’re excited to bring Jacky onboard at SPT,” said Bond. “This is great for us and for entertainment in the region. Jacky will lead strategy for creation of local original formats and expand genres such has docuseries, true crime and create more synergies with the scripted fiction team. We’re thrilled for her to get started.”

Castro joins SPT with more than fifteen years of experience in the media. Most recently, Castro was Head of Production Content for Mexico at The Mediapro Studio, where she was in charge of production and both scripted and unscripted projects in the region. Prior to The MediaPro Studio, Castro worked in production with Televisa and Televisión Azteca, the latter of which she spent eleven years of her career as producer of telenovelas, series and documentaries. She was the youngest in her position at TV Azteca and as Supervisor of Production of one of the highest grossing Mexican films, Cásese quien puede.

The Mexican native received a Communications degree with a focus in Media from the Universidad Anáhuac México Sur.
