During her session at Content Americas, Ana Bond, SVP & Managing Director, International Production, Latin America and US Hispanic for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), announced that production has started on Playa Soledad. The scripted dramedy series, which is produced by SPT and co-produced by Claro video, began filming in Coveñas, Colombia this week.

Playa Soledad is the story of Helen Castro, a young woman who works for her de ella “almost” de ella father-in-law’s real estate development company in Madrid. To achieve her desired promotion, Helen accepts the task of traveling to Mexico to purchase the lands of Playa Soledad, among which are those of her de ella father de ella Luis Castro, whom she has not seen in 20 years since she left Mexico. Helen will reconnect with her father de ella, her roots de ella and find a new love, but ella soon discovers that the project, far from being the ecological reserve she thought, will destroy Playa Soledad. And Helen is the only one who can prevent this tragic destiny.

“We’re excited to partner with talented creators like Flipy to tell this unique story about coming full circle in life and the surprising journeys it can take you on,” said Ana Bond, SVP & Managing Director, International Production, Latin America and US Hispanic, SPT.

Playa Soledad was created by Enrique “Flipy” Pérez Vergara (Las Bravas). Bond, Madeleine Contreras, Martin Gandarillas and Annel Ramo serve as executive producers.

The production received the CINA incentive (Audiovisual Investment Certificate), granted by the Colombian Government and administered by Proimágenes: a tax discount equivalent to 35% of the expenditure on audiovisual services in the country.
